GALLERY: Arctic Monkeys
AUSTIN, TX | SEPTEMBER 15, 2023 | BY ELINA CARRASCO
After nearly two decades of touring together, the Arctic Monkeys consistently prove why they’re one of the most iconic rock bands of the 2000’s. In the blistering Austin heat, fans lined up at 5am outside Moody Center the morning of the show and those who made it on barricade boasted that it was well worth the wait. Upon showtime, the bass of “Sculptures of Anything Goes” shakes your soul as the band strolls on stage, as cool as ever. No matter when you might’ve gotten into the band, you are guaranteed to hear one of your favorites. Playing staples that beg the questions Do I Wanna Know? or R U Mine? The Monkeys also play a few less common tracks like the Ultracheese and Suck It And See which recently made its first appearance on this tour after not being played live for nearly ten years. The Englishmen play hit after hit after hit and the crowd has limitless moshing energy. Time and time again, the Arctic Monkeys are here to substantiate rock and roll is alive and well.
