Rock-alternative band AWOLNATION headlined a vibrant and energetic show at Emo’s for their Austin stop on the Phantom Five Tour, where they had support from Makua and Bryce Fox. Each opening set ramped up the energy and by the time AWOLNATION was on stage, the crowd had abandoned their phones and started dancing to rock and synth instrumentals on songs such as “Jump Sit Stand March”. Towards the middle of the show, lead singer Aaron Bruno told the audience he wanted to do a song they hadn’t done in a long time, and the crowd was pleased to hear “Sound Witness System”.

The buildup to the band’s most popular song: “Sail” was palpable. When the iconic opening synth and instrumentals rang out through Emo’s, the crowd collectively took a deep breath in and got ready to dance. It only took one word to send the crowd into excitement and positive chaos: Sail!

KEEP UP WITH AWOLNATION
