GALLERY: Devon Again

NEW YORK CITY, NY | OCTOBER 13, 2023 | BY NALA BURTON

With her first tour almost complete, Devon Again made her voice heard in New York City. The alt-pop artist sang songs off her debut EP “PEE” while a bright pink toilet sat front in center on stage. Her melodic voice is a direct contrast to her outward appearance, which makes for a compelling artist. Her lyrics come off as vulnerable and personal and are easily digestible over synth-pop production. Devon Again is an artist who loves to engage her audience in her performances, which makes her stage presence undeniable. During her Webster Hall set, she stopped mid-song to shout “gay people” and waited for the crowd to repeat her several times. All in all the show was creative, interactive, and enjoyable. Devon Again is currently opening for Maude Latour for two more shows before the tour comes to an end. I, and many others wait for a headlining tour in the near future.
