GALLERY: Father John Misty at Toronto’s Massey Hall
TORONTO, CA | MASSEY HALL | FEBRUARY 22, 2025 | BY FAB MOREIRA
Father John Misty paid a highly anticipated return to Toronto at classic venue Massey Hall, serving as the perfect backdrop for the evening. Frontman Josh Tillman provided an enigmatic performance that had everyone watching intently all the way through, supported by his 8 member touring band. He effortlessly brought each song to life, with humorous tidbits and stories in between, while encompassing a swagger of cool as he moved across the stage. He made sure to spread the love with plenty of crowd interaction, and at one point even pointed out to an adoring fan along the balcony. Notable tracks included on the setlist included “Screamland”, off of his new record “Mahashmashana”, and opening the encore with “Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins)”. Father John Misty will be bringing this same tour in the spring throughout Europe and the UK, with a return to the United States by summer time. For lovers of folk and indie, this is an essential artist to add to your calendar.
