It is pretty difficult to categorize Greg Puciato’s solo material fitting into one genre or style. Best known as the vocalist for now-defunct The Dillinger Escape Plan, Greg has branched out and collaborated on several projects, most recently performing under his own moniker. Drawing upon post-hardcore, industrial, and electronica, amongst many influences, he is a shape-shifter in his latest project, offering something different with every track, and embracing this fully.

He paid a special visit to Toronto last weekend at the Velvet Underground, the perfect setting for an intimate show. To say that he loves his fans is a complete understatement - he made sure to share this adoration for them throughout the entire evening. At times wading into the crowd to surf amongst them, he even brought up a fan to perform guest vocals on “Lowered”, of which the studio recording features Reba Meyers from Code Orange.

With his bandmates, they performed through 13 tracks from this project, and returning for a single encore, covering Alice in Chain’s “Them Bones”.

This was truly a night to remember for all in attendance, and this was evident in all the smiling faces visible when the lights came on. Greg is currently more than halfway through supporting his first tour for his solo project, with stops left in Atlanta, throughout Texas, along the west coast, as well as a couple festival dates in Europe. He has noted that he will not be touring for a while following the completion of this stint, so you’ll want to catch him while you can if he’s making a stop in your city.
