Judah & the Lion fans, dressed in green, gathered at the House of Blues Dallas last week for an unforgettable night. The band, headed by Judah Akers and Brian Macdonald, made their long-awaited return after the pandemic and mentioned throughout the night how excited they were to be back performing for the fans again on tour!
The energy throughout the venue was electric as the band made a Tuesday night feel like a Saturday. There were many highlights of the night including when openers, smallpools, joined the band on stage to perform a cover of Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ and Creed’s ‘Higher’ and when the band had a dance break to Lil Jon’s ‘Snap Yo Fingers’.
Judah & the Lion’s music addresses complex themes of anxiety, loss, and heartbreak which evolve into a message of hope, acceptance, and belonging. A powerful performance of the song ‘Beautiful Anyway’ reminded the audience they are “known and loved.” Judah’s vocals draw you in as a listener and overwhelm you with emotion in a beautiful way. The show ended with a bang as Judah joined the crowd in the pit and hopped on the shoulders of a fan during ‘Take It All Back’, making it feel like one giant party. Fans raved about the show while leaving and mentioned how they hope to see them again!
