Young blues singer Marcus King poured his heart and soul out to a sold out show at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin. King’s latest release, Young Blood, is filled with bluesy riffs and emotional vulnerability. The album had support from Black Keys guitarist, Dan Auerbach, who also helped forge his previously Grammy nominated album El Dorado. Playing hits from both albums, the band jammed out to keys and guitar solos for a majority of their performance. Drummer Jack Ryan rocked out his own drum solo before King left the stage and later returned to send fans off with a few acoustic songs. King was joined by openers Ashland Craft and Neal Fancis as well as his partner Briley Hussey. The couple sang a cover of Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones. Marcus King has rock and roll in his blood and bones and he seems right at home when he’s on stage.
