MOODY CENTER | AUSTIN, TX | OCTOBER 26, 2024 | BY ELINA CARRASCO

Bringing their signature blend of soul, rock, and raw energy, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats lit up the Moody Center in Austin last weekend. The crowd was easily swayed by Rateliff's powerful vocals and the band’s tight, soulful sound. The show began on a solemn note with opener Gregory Alan Isakov, whose haunting folk melodies filled the arena. His hat casting a shadow over his face, Isakov delivered an ethereal set that included his song "Miles to Go," holding the crowd in stillness as his voice resonated to every corner of the venue. With the crowd still under Isakov’s spell, anticipation built until Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats sauntered onto the stage and kicking the show off with 'Look It Here' off the band’s debut album. Fans all the way from the barricade to the nosebleeds were on their feet, dancing with drinks in hand. Rateliff and his eight-piece band delivered every hit fans came to hear, Rateliff also brought in a few songs from his latest solo release, And It’s Still Alright, including the title track. With this song, the audience returned to the same beautiful stillness felt during Isakov’s set, only to be swept back into full energy as Rateliff, center stage in a dramatic spotlight, launched into fan favorite “S.O.B.” before sending the crowd off with “Love Don’t.” Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats deliver a soulful take on the blues in a way that’ll have you dancing all the way out of the venue—this is one show you definitely don’t want to miss.
