SCOOT INN | AUSTIN, TX | OCTOBER 10, 2024 | BY ELINA CARRASCO

Canadian rock band The Beaches wrapped up their Blame My Ex tour at a sold-out show at Austin’s Scoot Inn, as part of the Austin City Limits Late Night series, where artists from ACL's lineup perform intimate shows at beloved local venues. The night began with Toronto-based singer-songwriter Charlie Houston, whose laid-back vocals and guitar-driven melodies set an intimate tone, providing a mellow contrast to the set that followed. The quartet emerged from backstage, bathed in flickering lights, and kicked things off with “Cigarette.” Singer and bassist Jordan Miller, effortlessly cool with her waist-length hair and yellow sunglasses, held the front row spellbound. To her right was her sister, guitarist Kylie Miller, and to her left, guitarist Leandra Earl, while drummer Eliza McDaniel anchored the band from the back, providing the heartbeat of the music.

Their stage presence was undeniable, connecting with fans from the front row to the back of the venue as they performed hits from their latest album Blame My Ex. Delivering a well-balanced mix of old and new favorites, The Beaches left the crowd screaming the album’s title at the top of their lungs—an unforgettable way to kick off the second weekend of Austin City Limits.
