On March 22nd, The Velveteers brought their Million Knives Tour to Austin’s Empire Control Room with openers Girl Tones and Retro Cowgirl. Austin-based Retro Cowgirl kicked off the night with some special local charm. The group brought powerful vocals, an upbeat energy, and heavy guitar riffs, leaving the crowd grooving and excited for the rest of the show. Shortly after, rock-duo Girl Tones took the stage. The pair grabbed the attention of every audience member with their cutting vocals and intense drums. It didn’t take long for everyone to join together, headbanging in sync with the talented sisters. After two incredible opening sets, The Velveteers were welcomed by a zealous Empire crowd that met their energy upon arrival. The rock trio played a captivating set, featuring fan favorites “Take It From The Top” and “On And On” from their newest album and the tour’s namesake, A Million Knives. Between all three acts, this invigorating rock-filled night gave attendees an everlasting high after the show ended.
