Wolf Alice tore up downtown Kansas City with cosmic energy at The Truman last Saturday night in Missouri. The British alt-rock band consists of Ellie Rowsell on lead vocals and guitar, Joff Oddie on lead guitar, Theo Ellis on bass, Joel Amey on drums and vocals and Ryan Malcolm on the keys. They kicked off their set with ‘Smile’ from their most recent album release Blue Weekend, which was nominated by NME as Best British Album and Best Album in the World. Ellie demands and holds your attention with her charm as she sings big energy tracks like ‘Formidable Cool’ where she falls to her knees and belts out with fervor. Wolf Alice has an entrancing aura that keeps fans coming back for more. They keep you hooked by effortlessly switching between lusty riffs heard in ‘Visions Of A Life’ and saccharine ballads like ‘Don’t Delete The Kisses.’ No matter how many times you’ve seen them or heard their songs; every song feels brand new, like you're hearing it for the first time.
