As a devoted Swiftie, I had high expectations for the show, and I can confidently say that Taylor exceeded them in every aspect, leaving the crowd in awe and admiration.
From the moment Taylor Swift stepped on stage, the energy in the venue was electrifying. The elaborate set design, coupled with stunning visual effects and state-of-the-art lighting, created a mesmerizing ambiance that perfectly complemented the songs. "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" is the re-recording of Taylor Swift's iconic album "Speak Now" released in 2011. This release (which happened on July 7th, the night before my show) was part of Taylor's ongoing project to regain control of her masters and preserve her musical legacy. Re-recording her past albums allowed Taylor to reclaim ownership of her music and present the songs to her fans with renewed authenticity and creative control.
One of the standout aspects of "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" was the sense of nostalgia it evoked. Fans who grew up with the original album were transported back to those formative years, re-experiencing the magic of the songs through Taylor's fresh perspective. For my show, she decided to add “Long Live” to her “Speak Now” Eras set, and seemingly for the rest of the tour. Her surprise songs were also picked to support the celebration of “Speak Now (Taylor’s version)”, with “Last Kiss” being one song she sang.
