Beabadoobee delivered a fantastic performance on a rainy Tuesday night at Emo’s in Austin, TX. Fans came out early to see opener Lowertown who got spirits high just before the main act. The Atlanta duo consisting of Olivia Osby and Avshalom Weinberg sing about all the intense emotions felt and lived in our teenage years. Osby’s mumbly and sultry lyrics interdigitate with Weinberg's strapping guitar riffs. During their last song, Osby asked the crowd to go crazy and that they did, fans showed just as much love to Lowertown as they did when Beabadoobee entered the stage. The crowd gave Beabadoobee a warm welcome and their enthusiasm was felt wall to wall. Before playing “She Plays Bass” lead singer (Beatrice Laus) told fans “you better jump for me, promise?” and they eagerly complied. Before leaving the stage after their song “Talk,” Beatrice told Texas fans “we love Texas, yeehaw!” She returned to the stage for an encore with a stool and an acoustic guitar. Before playing “Coffee” she opened up for an intimate moment and asked fans to put their phones away for the song. She told the crowd “this song is very very special to me. This is a song that means a lot to me.” This group was one of the most energetic crowds I have felt and seen in a while, they sang their heart out to every song and belted all the lyrics.
