Das Kope rocked the Brooklyn Bowl on August 5th in Las Vegas as support for STRFKR. “Trippy” and “Euphoric” are the perfect descriptions for Das Kope’s music. The Brazilian-born artist derived his name from the word “Kaleidoscope.” The solo artist does it all: produces his music, writes his own lyrics, and creates the visuals that project behind him at shows.
Walking into the venue, fans were entirely oblivious to the performance that they would witness from Das Kope. As he began his set, a screen projected scenic Malibu-esque palm trees and trippy B&W patterns (created by Das Kope himself, of course!). Coupled with the lyrical genius’ psychedelic songs, the performance was definitely one to remember. Das Kope’s set added a hallucinatory vibe to the show with songs like “L.A.X.” and “Tiger” drawing the crowd in. Heads bobbed to the beat as concert-goers eagerly turned their attention to the stage. Lights flashed overhead, casting shadows on his face. Das Kope stood alone on the Brooklyn Bowl stage, singing into a microphone and picking an electric guitar: an image that reflects his solitude as an artist.
Das Kope concluded his set with “Tiger” and stepped off the stage. However, that wasn’t even the end to his performance that night. Das Kope would later join STRFKR for half of their set, playing the electric guitar and grooving with the crowd.
