STRFKR (pronounced as “starfucker”), an indie rock band originating from Portland, Oregon, is comprised of 4 members: Joshua Hodges (vocals), Shawn Glassford (bass), Keil Corcoran (drums), and Arian Jalali (keys). STRFKR began as a solo project of Joshua Hodges in 2007.

The Summer 2022 Tour began in early June in San Diego and concluded in early August in Las Vegas. The 40-show tour was supported by Das Kope and the Undercover Dream Lovers (both of whom put on amazing performances! Check out their galleries as well!)

STRFKR rocked the Brooklyn Bowl on August 5th. Joining them on stage was opener Das Kope, who handled the guitar for ½ of their set. Their production consisted of overhead lighting that casted shadows on their faces, offering a mysterious vibe. Mid-set, background dancers interacted with the show: they began with two, but as the setlist progressed, as many as fifteen dancers were on stage, standing in a line and dancing to STRFKR’s set. One dancer even crowd-surfed! Every now and then, the band would blast confetti from canons as mist would fill along the stage. The venue was complete with a bar and even a bowling alley! Screens projected the performance so that concert goers could bowl while witnessing the performance.

With their 2 hour long set, “Open Your Eyes' ' generated cheers from the crowd as it was a clear crowd-favorite. The song contrasted well with their dream pop and psychedelic pop perfectly, offering a reprieve of upbeat notes. The crowd swayed and danced together as the Brooklyn Bowl bar offered drinks. With “Open Your Eyes,” STRFKR illuminated the Brooklyn Bowl with a disco ball. Songs like “Kahlil Gibran,” “Golden Light,” and “Rawnald Gregory Erickson the Second” were also played, popular crowd-favorites and some of STRFKR’s top hits.

With 2 brilliant openers and a 2-hour long headliner, the show was one to remember (especially because of the background dancers that interacted with the crowd!).

Keep up with STRFKR:
