The soft, yet soothing live vocals of Faye Webster made me cry in a good way. Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Faye Webster graced the stage of her sold-out show at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago with all her energy — and then some. Despite having mid-size venues support the singer throughout the tour, Webster provided audiences the experience of a one-night, intimate show for a crowd of 100 people, connecting with the crowd with her guitar string she plucked. She opened up the night with her latest single “But Not Kiss,” and followed up with classic tunes “Better Distractions” and “Kind Of.” Lighting played an important role throughout Webster’s set, often having one stage light illuminating her silhouette before fading to black at the end of a song, perfectly capturing the mood of songs like “Jonny” and “Lifetime.” Webster closed out the night with an encore to her legendary hit, “Kingston,” making the whole crowd come together and belted every single word, catching themselves in a trance of her lovestruck hit.
