Getting over a break up is hard enough. Now imagine on top of that, breaking up with a public figure and previously writing a lot of your songs about how much you love them. Now you take two routes after that, shy away from it, or write your biggest album yet. Role Model did the latter. Last Saturday night pop artist Role Model bursted in the stage in front of the roaring sold out crowd.
Before he took the stage, opener Debbii Dawson dazzled the sold out crowd. She walked on the stage donning a pair of thigh high fully sequined boots and her own merch, a true power move. Her angelic voice soared above the pop rock based instrumentals. Debbii showed her skills not only in vocals, but also the keyboard, guitar, and even a keytar. Above anything it also happened to be her birthday, so she truly put on a stellar show.
After changing his life and changing his sound, Role Model released his latest album, “Kansas Anymore.” This album came with great success, huge hits, and a new found fanbase. After chatting with some of the young girls in the front row, they informed me that they have been waiting in line since two AM to get the coveted barricade spot. That proves exactly how popular Role Model really is. With a pop based sound topped with folk, indie and even some country elements, his music can really be enjoyed by any listener
All night he played hits like “Look at That Woman,” “Deeply Still in Love” and his newest song off of his extended album, “Sally When the Wine Runs Out.” Literally every single word was sung back to him with no mistakes made.
Role Model is currently on the US leg of his world tour, while also opening for Gracie Abrams, “The Secret of Us” tour. The energy room was absolutely unmatched. From referring to his fans as, “divas” to jumping around every inch of the stage, Role Model is sure to give you a night of singing, dancing, and pure joy. Be sure not to miss him as he hits every major US city on his “No Place like Tour” world tour.
