Celebrating the release of his second album “Spirals,” Nick Leng made a stop at Schubas Tavern in Chicago on his first headlining tour and first time in the US. Aged 29, Leng is evidently bursting with talent, a passion for music, and ability to perform.
Within the first few songs of his set the crowd was already blown away by his talent and skill both instrumentally and vocally. Throughout his entire set, Leng kept the crowd engaged and ready to be the first to hear his most popular songs live in Chicago. Notable songs in his set included his latest album’s title single “Spirals” which had a soft beginning and built up tension that exploded with energy at the end. By this time in the set, the crowd was dancing like nobody was around.
However, Leng’s performance of his most popular song, “Lonely Shade of Blue” left the room speechless with tears in their eyes by its conclusion. The softness of the piano and touching lyrics made the song feel incredibly personal, truly making it a privilege to watch such a talented artist perform the beautifully composed piece.
