Concert goers grabbed their pink cowboy hats and heart-shaped sunglasses as The Driver Era, headed by brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch, brought their Summer ‘22 tour to Dallas, Texas. Most fans will know Ross Lynch from his acting career which started on Disney Channel with credits including Austin & Ally and the Teen Beach Movie and from the family-founded pop band R5, which saw Ross on lead vocals and Rocky on lead guitar. The family continues to play together today with their brother Riker Lynch on the bass and their sister Rydel Lynch on the keys (but not for the Dallas show because she just had a baby - congratulations!).
THE DRIVER ERA brought out a crowd of all ages to dance and sing the night away as they played songs from their recent albums along with a few throwbacks! During the set, Rocky donned a Teen Beach Movie t-shirt as they performed ‘On My Own’ from the movie which was clearly a fan favorite as everyone in the venue sang along. They also took it back to the R5 days performing ‘Cali Girls’ while Ross changed the lyrics to “a Texas girl is what I need,” eliciting a cheer from the crowd.
The Lynch brothers have a contagious energy as they have fun on stage and with the crowd. Ross put on a pink cowboy hat from a fan for a song - which is a must when touring in Texas, and cheers could be heard as the guys waved to and smiled at fans in the crowd throughout the set. It is clear they have a good time on stage performing together and interacting with their fans which always makes for an enjoyable show!
Fans of all ages came together to enjoy the same music. At one point, Ross asked if anyone had been there from the beginning and hands shot in the air throughout the crowd, while for some, this was their first show! It highlighted the timelessness of Ross and Rocky Lynch as they are nostalgic for some and a brand new band for others - but nonetheless favorites of all. Fan favorites from the night included their brand new single ‘Malibu’ as well as ‘Preacher Man’ and of course, ‘Cali Girls.’
