DANFORTH MUSIC HALL | TORONTO, ON | APRIL 17, 2024 | BY FABIANA MOREIRA
Movements made a highly anticipated return back to Toronto at the Danforth Music Hall after a 5-year gap from stopping in the city, supporting their latest release “RUCKUS!” and bringing along a stacked lineup, including openers Tigers Jaw, Webbed Wing, and PÆRISH. Self-described as a “rock and roll band”, their project is heavily influenced by post-hardcore, emo, and indie rock, often shape-shifting between the genres throughout a single track. Although the setlist leaned more towards songs from the newest record, the band made sure to cover all bases, playing favourites such as “Colorblind”, and “Kept”, a nod back to their earliest material. Many took to the crowd and surfed their way to the front barrier throughout the entire set, and vocalist Patrick Miranda kept with their pace, bringing an exhilarating performance along with the rest of the members.
The band is well on their way to wrapping up their current US tour along the west coast, and will be making stops this summer throughout Europe and the UK, including some festival dates!
